A Stylish Soiree

Most girls dream of their wedding day for their entire life. Well in my case, I’ve dreamed of Elizabeth’s wedding day for my entire life (or ever since we became best friends 14 years ago). I always knew it would be one of the most stylish events I’d ever be a part of, and as you’re about to see, March 6, 2010 exceeded all expectations.

I was lucky enough to be Elizabeth’s Maid-of-Honor, and it was such a privilege to stand by her side not only on her big day, but also through the wedding planning fun. From catering and floral to invites and lighting, the entire process was so special to be a part of. But I’d have to say, the most amazing moments were when Elizabeth found the dress (uh-mazing) and THE SHOES. Oh my God, the shoes!

As a true creative mind, Elizabeth began the planning process by storyboarding her vision...

You’ll see lots of unique elements here, coming together to create a cohesive theme of modern, romantic glamor with a twist. Her priorities:  Shades of pink, chandeliers, peonies, cherry blossom branches, and somehow incorporating Brother, her cat.  (She settled on a framed photo upon walking into the reception)

In my opinion, this is one of the best examples I’ve seen of a storyboard coming to life… what do you think?

The save the dates set the tone for the wedding... Love these!
Such fun and unique programs for the ceremony - designed by Elizabeth!
Shoes by Rene Caovilla (We had to go to LA to find these!)
Me helping E into her shoes
The blissfully happy bride in her Monique Lhuillier dress (really a corset and skirt!)
JUST what Elizabeth had dreamed of!
Cherry blossom branches dripping with crystals
Floral by Garden Gate Floral Design
Don't you love these? Designed by Elizabeth!
The whimsical, modern cake was SO delicious!
The bride and groom
Such a perfect pair!
I’ll close by saying that as unbelievably gorgeous as the event was, no amount of pink peonies or crystal chandeliers could hold a candle to the joy of seeing Elizabeth and her incredible husband Matt together as husband and wife. I have NEVER seen such a smile on her face!
