Pre Fall Collections: My favorites so far

A gathering of 136 fashion insiders filled the couture salon of Chanel's Rue Cambon store for the showing of the Pre-Fall Collection. As you can see in the pictures, it seemed like a comfy setting for the usually over the top Chanel show. There were tiny coffee tables dispersed throughout the room, the floor was covered in rugs and pillows and the walls were embroidered with bronze sequins. Gorgeous! The clothes were Byzantine Empress meets London girl in the swinging 60's or "Granny takes a trip to Constantinople" said Lagerfeld.

Jason Wu
This was Jason Wu's second pre-fall collection and was twice the size of his last one.  Another great suprise: handbags!! The thirties and art deco inspired had color blocking in grey tinged salmon and purple, lady like looks accented with black lace and more sportswear than a usual Wu collection.  I especially love this grey coat with beaded black lace along the shoulders and back. I would actually kill for that! P.S the walls are fab!

Reed Krakoff
Creative Director for Coach, Reed Krokoff, has only had his eponymous collection for less than a year, but seems to be very comfortable in his new role. His Pre-Fall collection was a great mix of hard and soft..."utilitarian but elevated" as Reed said. I especially loved the orange crepe de chine dress and the low slung gold python wrap skirt!
