Obsessed With....

1. New Music and Books: If you have not heard of Lana del Rey, I am doing you a favor at this moment by introducing you to her. She is amazing...PERIOD. Listen to her here. I also just came across this book, Stylist: The Interpreters of Fashion. This book, created by editors of Style.com, looks at the work of 16 stylists including Polly Mellen, Grace Coddington, Carine Roitfeld & Joe Zee.
2. Tom Binns is one of my absolute favorite jewelry lines and the SS '12 collection is a masterpiece. It was full of irreverence, pop and baroque style that Tom is so brilliant at capturing. I need to get my hands on that "Punk" necklace or the acid green cameo necklace ASAP.
3. It has finally started to get cold in Dallas which was thrilling for me because I could finally get some good use out of my Asos Parka. I think they made it out of those Barefoot Dreams baby blankets because it is the softest, warmest coat I have ever worn!!! I also can't wait to stock up on big knitted sweaters like this one from Topshop and winter booties like these fur trimmed Burberry ones. Want to stay looking chic in a blizzard?? Boom...these are the key!!
4. Like the title of this post says, I am OBSESSED with the pajama look. I just bought the blue pajama shirt from J. Crew and I am so excited for it to get here. I wouldn't mind having those Balenciaga Resort pants or those McQueen skull embroidered slippers as well. And any time it is acceptable to wear pajamas during the day, I will be doing it!!!

Happy Weekend!!

E's Moroccan Rug Reveal

Happy Monday, all!! I took some pics of our new rugs over the weekend so here they are!!! Feedback welcome!!

Buying rugs online was a big gamble and I wasn't sure about the orange when we first received them. I wasn't thrilled with the color of the rug, but there was no way to return the rug so I had to make it work. My solution? I flipped the rug over and now the bottom is the top. I love the texture and colors so much more!!! I think in time, I will get an antique french sofa that I have been lusting over and the rug will be perfect with that as well.

Celebrity Dress Up with Haley from Nonsense and Sensibility

Thank goodness the weekend is almost here!!!! For this edition of Celebrity Dress Up, we have a good friend and fellow blogger, Haley Schultheis of Nonsense and Sensibility breaking down looks for her style icon, Bianca Jagger. What a great pick!!! Haley is a fellow Dallas dweller and talk about accomplished!!! She is an amazing writer, creator of a beautiful blog and is a member of the Vogue Influencer network, guest blogging for Conde Nast The Style Society, and is as sweet as she is talented!! We just love Haley and know you all will to!!!

Bianca Jagger

I’m not really sure how you can get much more chic than riding a horse into Studio 54 and marrying the lead singer of the Rolling Stones. If it were possible, I’m sure Nicaraguan-born socialite and activist Bianca Jagger would have found a way. I have always been influenced by the style of Bianca.  Not only am I inspired by her striking exotic looks, but by her fantastic use of accessories and desire to take fashion risks.  She wasn’t afraid to ever push the limit when it came to sex and glamour in the 70s. She is an excellent source of fashion inspiration today and I love reimagining her style when it comes to current fashion and design.

I saw the design director for Louis Vuitton's St. Germain apartment over on Habitually Chic and I just HAD to repost. It's clear from these pictures {and her job title} that Julie de Libran  has an insane style and one very enviable closet. Take a look inside her Parisian home!!

Wedding Wednesday: What's on the Menu?

It's Wedding Wednesday, Food Edition!

I am thrilled to finally share my dinner menu with you guys.  Since surf and turf wasn't exactly in the budget, Carl and I opted for a "Texas Twist" theme to make our menu fun.  The result?  Food that's a bit down-home, a bit elegant, and A LOT Texas.

And a VERY warm thank you to Angela Weber for her FABULOUS layout of my menu. I LOVESSSS it.

Sooo... here it is:

So... For you married ladies, what did you serve at your wedding?  And for you who are yet to tie the knot, what do you picture feasting on for your big day?

Steal or Splurge: Giambattista Valli vs Giambattista Valli for Macy's

Images of Giambattista Valli's capsule collection for Macy's brand, Impulse, were released yesterday and I couldn't be more excited. What I love about this collection is that GV seemed to take signature looks from his luxury collection and create them at MUCH more reasonable prices. While Giambattista Valli's dresses can cost you anywhere from $900- $4000, the Macy's line will retail between $50- $150. Now put your Giambattista Valli love to the test and play our little game of "Steal or Splurge". Can you guess which is from his luxury label and which is for Macy's????

Wedding Wednesday... On Thursday: My Wedding Invitation!

Happy Wedding... err, Thursday!

Today I'm sharing my wedding invitation!  It went out last week, and I couldn't be more excited with how it turned out.  I wanted something classic that would never go out of style.  The invitation is engraved by Crane, and the calligraphy (on both the envelopes and our names on the invitation) was by the amazing Debi Sementelli of Lettering Art Studio.

I hope you like it!

Celebrity Dress Up With Kelly of Fabulous K

Helllooo out there. We apologize for our absence this week, but we have been preparing for Annie's bachelorette party which starts TODAY!!! We know this post will make up for our absences because the beautiful and inspiring Kelly of Fabulous K is joining us for our Guest Series. Kelly, a fellow Dallasite, is a super talented graphic artist that, like A+ I, has an obsession with fashion and design. Her blog is so enjoyable to visit because it's packed full of eye catching colors, lovely fonts and unique design + fashion finds. So once your through checking out her picks for the ever so chic Gwyneth Paltrow for The NOW, hop on over to Fabulous K for some more Friday happiness!!

I mean..just look at her header!! This is the cutest thing we have ever seen!

Happy Friday, everyone!  I'm thrilled that Annie + Elizabeth asked me to participate in this series. For my favorite fashion icon, I selected Gwyneth Paltrow. One of the things I love most is her versatility. She is quite a style chameleon, switching it up between Hollywood glamour, classic prep and downtown edge flawlessly.  As hard as it is to choose, I adore when she rocks edgy black pieces with feminine details, something that can sometimes be quite tricky.  She manages to balance the line between girly and edgy perfectly, don't you think?

Sources: 1, 23, 4, 5, 6, 7

Which Gwyneth-inspired item is your favorite?  Thanks again for having me today, ladies!

Gosh, could we love Kelly or Gwenny more? Nope!   Thanks sooo much for joining us, Kelly!

Had To Have It....

I can't believe I am saying this, but I bought a rug...actually I bought two!! I have had quite an obsession with Moroccan rugs and I decided I had talked enough about them so why not actually take the plunge and buy one?? I went to My Marrakesh and couldn't decide between two that I absolutely LOVED so I got both!!! Yipppeeee! If you haven't been to Maryam's site, you have to go check it out!! She has such amazing things. I was going to wait and post the rugs when they actually got here, but I couldn't wait any longer to share the news!!!
